Conversions are estimates

Every percentage, grade point and attendance figure produced on this site is an estimate calculated from the inputs you supply and the formula you select. Your official transcript, grade card and examination ordinance govern. Where the two disagree, your university is right and this site is wrong.

Formulas differ and change

There is no single national formula for converting grade points to percentage in India. Institutions publish their own, revise them, and sometimes apply different rules to different programmes or admission years. A formula that was correct for one batch may not be correct for yours.

Verified and unverified formulas

Formulas marked verified have been read from the issuing university’s own ordinance, circular or examination manual, and the page links that document with the date. Formulas marked not verified are in wide circulation but have not been checked against a source document. Confirm them against your examination manual before putting the figure on a form.

Attendance rules

Attendance requirements, condonation ceilings and detention consequences are set by each institution and often by each department. The 75% default used here is the common minimum, not a universal rule. Your department’s notice board is authoritative.
