A grade point does not remember your marks

A CGPA of 8.00 across a 500-mark semester is consistent with an aggregate anywhere from roughly 400 to 445 depending on where inside each band your subjects sat. If an application asks for marks and you have only a CGPA, that spread is the honest uncertainty in whatever single number you write down.

Where a form insists on marks and your transcript carries only grade points, the safest route is to attach the transcript with the grading key rather than converting by hand, or to state the CGPA with its scale and let the receiving body apply its own conversion. Many will prefer to.
